The ‘Spirit Book in Fragments’ was made from an old book of chemical spirit measures, perhaps from a brewery or apothecary. It is over a century old and when the pages were torn and pulped they released the scent of turf ash. The book had been used and annotated for decades with chemical calculations or sums. The pages were remade and combined with some water damaged old pages of text to create a new surface. Fragmented poetry, text, words and letters float like sediment, bound by my imagination.
