UNBOUND

This collection of paper based sculpture explores themes of time. Handmade paper threads from pulped pages of text are re-created in delicate root like webs.

Pages from old books fan out like stairways through time and touch displaying the familiar wear of human hands in the bends and creases. The human story from the pages has been released, freed from the bounds of the civilised book. The book covers are left with threaded spines exposed and a sediment of paper pulp embeds fragments of bone. Beach stones are bound in lettered paper pulp then threaded with thin red silk like veins suggesting a letter wrapped and thrown with a stone from a distant time from the past or future.
